Like nobody else!
We work with healthcare data, so it’s extremely important that we keep it as secure as possible. We had another IT company that was supposedly monitoring our system 24/7, they were more tool-based. We moved over to RainTech for their hands-on approach. They really take the time to get into your system, understand where you’re at, and where your vulnerabilities are. With RainTech you get better service at a more affordable price. We’re a small organization so this is a big win for us!
We worked with RainTech to get our HITRUST certification. That was a huge win for us as it really improved our security posture. Things came up throughout the course of going through that process, a lot of technical questions, and I was able to just open a ticket with RainTech and they’d answer it pretty much immediately. RainTech knows policies and procedures like nobody else!
Hiring RainTech is a lot less expensive than hiring even one full-time security person. So that’s the big argument — you could hire two or three people, but you’re going to pay a lot less if you just have a company that knows what they’re doing and can put the tools in place. When things come up, you have that high-level expertise just an email away. It’s really nice!
We’re using RainTech for quite a few things now—managed security, compliance, support desk, firewall, and now our Windows licensing. It’s just so nice to have a vendor that understands our environment and can handle a lot of that stuff. I’ve heard you don’t want to put all your eggs in one basket but I think, in this case, it makes total sense!
RainTech’s hands-on approach is really the biggest draw for us and just the level of expertise the team has. Being able to simply open a support ticket and talk directly to a CISO or a Tier II support person is so nice. We even had RainTech come to our office to put in new switches, a firewall, and new wireless access points. Before we would have to hire a company to come out and do that kind of stuff.

Before working with RainTech, walking by the server room was stressful. I would worry about whether or not it’s going to break down, or if we’re going to have another problem with it. Our biggest concern was protecting our patient records. Being able to easily comply with more of the regulations as they begin to hit us harder in this electronic age — which is being mandated by the government now. I feel we are a step ahead.
